Alright, i miss everyone especially my jie mei(s) . Anyway, i had been doing a recollection which is also known as the 'reflection of the day ' everyday ( if I'm still awake) after each passing day of my Taiwan trip .
So here it goes ; ( read it with your heart and not your brain)
8/6/2008 . 1st day in Taiwan
I learnt alot of new things today. Everything to me is something new and it will be a day that i will never forget in my life as it is the first time I'm traveling away to a new country without my parents around. Therefore, i will cherish my time here and try to learn as much things as possible. Taking the aeroplane was fun and exciting but the only thing that is annoying is the high pressure of the atmosphere blocking my ear , causing discomfort and having echos inside my ear drum. I hope that this is only temporary. Going to Xi mei ting , i learnt to bargain and spend my money wisely . Buying gifts for my love ones and my friends. I really enjoyed my time over there and i also helped my non-Chinese mates to translate and help them to bargain too . However, we don't really have time to shop around as we arrived there quite late and the shops are mostly preparing to close . By the way, the things over there have similar pricing as Singapore , however, it is the
uniqueness in the products they are selling . Mostly you are not able to find in Singapore . So maybe i will consider buying :))
If i have a chance to come to Taiwan again, i will surely come to Taiwan to shop and try out the food here . Overall, i had fun today . :))
P.S I wonder how much ATM are there in the sky .

9/6/2008 . 2nd day in Taiwan
Today, i visited the
Singapore Trade Office in Taipei . Well, i truly understands how it is being operated and the heart and passion to get everyone from different countries to get together to work and relate to each other . This is the thing that not many countries will do . Taiwan is the 7th biggest partner with Singapore. Even though Taiwan is not officially related to us but we are still constantly trading related to one another. The person in charge also tells us about his experiences in Taiwan.
Later, in the afternoon we also went to
Taiwan External Trade Development (TAITRA) . Well, I don't really understand what is the lady trying to say . But ! She really made an effort on presenting the slides to us and making everyone to understand . I think we shouldn't make fun of her English or whatsoever as different countries different kinds of English standard, so i think it is better that we still listen attentively to her . Anyway, humans use heart to communicate not language .
Today also went to
Taipei 101 tower . It is the tallest building in the world . We went up to the 89th floor to take photos of the place . At first when i first landed on the land of Taiwan my feeling for this country is that there are alot of old buildings and they sort of look really pathetic but when i went up to the 101 tower my point of view changed . It is not really that pathetic as it look like but in fact i find it really beautiful . A small country like Taiwan are really organized in certain ways. They are really unlike Singapore , they have their unique ways to do certain things. And from this trip i learnt that '' do not judge a book by its cover '' .

10/6/2008. 3rd day in Taiwan
We visited
Wistron corporation . It is a computer company and the HQ is at Taiwan. The way they created their products are innovative and they really care about the quality of the products as they had gone though a series of test to prove to their customers that their products was good .
Gone to
Houhou che zhan to look for our products.
Visited the
National Taiwan Democracy memorial hall .
Later, at night we ( the team ) are doing our 2nd pitch and we really did very well this time . I am so happy for the team because we did better then before and it is really an improvement from the team. I felt that we are bonded together and that is what i think . I helped the team with the presentation slides . Even though, it is a bit rush with the time available but i felt that I'm finally being a part of the team because usually when I'm given a task to do , i cannot give my opinion even though if i did , it is usually turns into a puff of smoke. So this time at least i am in charge of something and finally i can do it my way . But that doesn't mean that i want everything to be on my own way , i mean maybe we could take some of my view or other teammates views to work together and not the same old people giving out the views . Anyway, i am happy that my GM believe in me and give me this task. And this is what i really want to tell all my teammates is that sometimes taking opinion from people is not bad at all , actually you will gain more with that . Learning from one another can also makes you become a better person and a better leader in future .

11/6/2008 . 4th day in Taiwan
Firstly, we went to
Asustek which is known as the top IT company in the world. It is found in 1969 and they were awarded about 2568 distinguished awards in 2007 which means they gotten 6 awards everyday ! They are also awarded with '' No.1 Brand in Taiwan at 2007 '' . They are a company that we need to learn from no matter if it is the organization or the good service attitudes they gave to their clients . They are the company that only tackle trades to big companies which also means B TO B strategy ( Business to Business ) .
They trained their workers to have ;
- Concept
- Ability
- Integrity
- Attitude
and all these factors are found in almost all Asustek people . Addition, ASUS factors of success is PEOPLE . ASUS thinks that people with all these factors will give a great help to the company and do well . Later part of the presentation from ASUS they told us about the differences between the
BLUE OCEAN & RED OCEAN strategy .
The ASUS believed and stick to the Blue ocean strategy. They had once told us this before ;
''the only way to beat the competition is to stop trying to beat the competition ''
it means that if you always think of wining it will never get you far . If you think of your customers for instance , it will be a different thing . You will concentrate more to the quality of the product making the best out of it and you will actually succeed in life. Get what i mean? Anyway, stop thinking of wining . It is the process that matters .
It really does depends on the companies , for instance the previous company that is visited is Wistron and they belong to the Red Ocean which are more aggressive but they still have good customers services just like ASUS.
I'm quite amaze by their hard work and passion on bringing the fine quality goods to their clients. It is really unlike what mostly Singapore businessman are doing .So i think this is what we are suppose to learn from them, Having gone through different kinds of test to prove to your customers your product are worth to buy and the best around the town or the world . I did really gained alot from the company ASUS. I will impart the things i learnt from there in my studies . ( eg: Blue ocean strategy)

12/6/2008 . 5th day in Taiwan
We took a bullet train to Taichung .It is fast and efficient unlike the normal mrt train we took in Singapore . Good :))
We visited the 912 earthquake memorial museum and Taiwan science centre .
The 912 earthquake memorial museum was interesting and the building and tracks that are cause by the dreadful earthquake is totally '' I've got no words to explain this feeling '' . This sight really strike me thinking that we should really cherish our life and treat one another better or maybe be more kind toward one another .
We maybe have conflicts every now and then with one another but all this can be resolved by talking and understanding each other . What i am trying to say is that we humans tends to quarrel over the smallest things because they don't understand one another . All these could be avoided if you listen attentively to one another when they are talking or whatsoever . Misunderstanding should be solve as soon as possible when things don't get any worsen . What i think is that misunderstanding are caused because it is either you do not understand the message that are being convey to you or the person who convey the message to you is wrong .
I think communication is very important in life as it can solve anything and it is also the best formula to build up friendship , teamwork and relationship between humans .
From this i really enlighten from alot of things .

13/6/2008 . 6th day in Taiwan
Today what we did is going to Chiufen and later on we went to buy our products that we wanted to sell in Singapore . I helped out this time , gladly . :)) Even though, the atmosphere over there is a bit tense because it is raining , noisy and we only have 1 hour to settle our bargaining and stuffs. My role given to me was half completed as i am suppose to do the bargaining but instead my trainer bargain for us. Thanks so much Yvfynn .
But i did helped out in some other stuffs so does my teammates Diane , Idayu and nabila, still got some others but i forgot already thats for the counting of the button dolls . Hehe .
Anyway, without their help there i will still be confuse on which numbers i am at that moment . Thanks girls :)) I felt at ease with them there . This is what i call teamwork . There are finally some team spirit in my team already. :)) We just need to work more on that .
Later on a part of my team went to Carrfour to buy other products . It didn't go as smoothly as we predicted but we still manage to get some of the food stuff there . It is really shocking that carrfour doesn't have enough stock available for us .
Overall, my team did a GREAT JOB !! :))

14/6/2008 . Last day in Taiwan .
For this whole trip in Taiwan, i learnt to take initiative , be alert at all times and stay focus . I know that i hadn't been contributing to Cohort 4 and my team but i had really tried my best to help out . Plus i know what i had been doing for the past few days was wrong and i had been reflecting almost every day thinking how am i going to improve myself and show my potential. My potential have not shown yet but i will still take part in everything that my team wanted me to do .
Some of you may misunderstand me sometimes thinking that i am that kind of people who don't care at all and people who are emo . If you know me well enough you will know that i actually have a very HIGH ''I'' personality . I've got tons of crazy ideas inside my head , i can speak to the public and i am not that kind of very shy people . I am LOUD and i don't tend to hide my feelings . Happy means happy , angry means angry . No point hiding right ? Anyway, with all of you reading my blog i hope you know who i am right now . I don't speak up because I've been processing and thinking of how to help my team . But sometimes i really think that we should give others a chance to speak up like what i said above . If you have read my blog carefully i think you should know what i meant .
Sometimes i think that i express myself better with words rather then speaking . I find myself stammering in front of people when i came into this program and that is not what i usually did in school. I think there are still some gap between me and my team so i hope that we can bond together just like Summer Love . Do you know that they are all very focus and into the things they are doing and i find that my team are kind of slack . No offence in this but it is just what i had been observing for this whole week . Right now we only left 1 more week to work together as a team and i hope that everything will go according to plan , after this week we will break apart and carry on with our life so please bear with some of the things you don't like or whatsoever. Only 1 week . :)) Alright Formosa-ians ?
I benefit alot from this program and alot of thing enlighten me . For example the blue ocean thingy . I will bear this in my mind , always .
Plus , i wanted to take this opportunity to apologize to the team that i didn't contribute alot to the team due to my busy schedule during the pre-trip and my quietness during the trip. Sorry Formosa .
And i wanted to apologize to my trainers Jan and Yvfynn . Sorry for being so low moral at times and not taking initiative . I know where i had gone wrong and i will work on that . I know i had been too relay on my parents on certain stuffs. I will learn to be more independent and be more confident . The thing that is lacking in me is confident and my form teacher nominate me to this program is because she wants me to be more confident . I am really a let down to her .
Last thing before i end this post ,
I want to thank Nabila , Yi fang and Yuxin for writing some comments for me . I will believe in myself and ITE = IT'S TO ENJOY . :)) Nabila you rock my underpants too . :))
